What Are the Different Types of Liposuction in Turkey?

There are 4 different types of liposuction in turkey which has been preferred in recent years. These types and their explanations are given below.

1. Tumescent Liposuction (Fluid Injection)

It is the most widely used liposuction technique. In this technique, a solution containing epinephrine, saline and lidokine is injected into the area where the fats will be removed by your doctor. This solution not only makes the absorption of fats easier, but also significantly reduces blood loss and pain.

2. Laser Assisted Liposuction

This technique uses a special laser to liquefy the fat cells by your doctor. The thin laser fiber, which is placed in small areas, emits low energy waves and thus makes the fat cells liquid without damaging the tissues. Then, with the help of cannula and aspirator, these fats are taken out.

3. Water Jet Assisted Liposuction

The basis of this method is pressurized saline. The saline water helps to loosen the fat cells and so these fats are removed from the body much more easily.

4. Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction

This technique, also known as UAL Liposuction, uses ultrasonic sound waves to break down fats and liquefy them. It becomes easier to remove these fats which have become liquid.

Steps of Liposuction Procedure in Turkey

1. Anesthesia

Local anesthesia is generally preferred for liposuction. However, general anesthesia may be applied by the doctor in cases where a large amount of fat is taken from more than one site.

2. Incisions

After anesthesia starts showing its effect, we proceed to the incision stage. At this step, incisions of 6-8 mm in size are created at predetermined areas.

3. Inserting the Cannulae

After the incision step, the cannulas are placed. Then, cannulae which is also known as thin hollow tubes are inserted into the incisions. The cannulae will allow the liquefied fat to be taken out with suction pressure.

4. Assisted Techniques

The different techniques mentioned above are applied when deemed necessary by your doctor. Laser, water jet and ultrasound assisted techniques increase the success of liposuction. The aim of these techniques is to relax and fluidize the fat cells. The intravenous fluid given before and after the procedure prevents blood and fluid losses.

5. Closing the Incisions

After removal of the fat by liposuction, the incisions are closed. Suture is used in this process. Discharge of excess liquids is carried out by means of tubes placed in the areas where fat is removed. Draining fluids also reduces the risk of infection. The sutures and drainage tubes are removed after 7-10 days

Who Is Not Eligible for Liposuction?

Although liposuction Turkey is an extremely popular cosmetic procedure, it is not feasible to perform it in some individuals. These can be listed as follows:

  • People with cardiovascular diseases
  • People with chronic illness
  • Smokers
  • Pregnant or likely to become pregnant
  • Overweight
  • Older people
  • People with circulatory system disease
  • Those with skin sagging (Liposuction doesn’t have positive effect on these people, thus skin stretching surgery should be done)

At this point, antibiotics and medications may be prescribed to minimize other side effects.

It is normal to see bruising and swelling after the procedure. While bruising usually disappears after a few days, full swelling can take up to 6 months.
