Preparation for the Procedure
The preparation process is planned individually for each patient. If patients are using blood thinners, they are asked to stop using these medicines a few days before the operation. Such medicines can cause excessive bleeding during the operation and, accordingly, different problems.
Before the operation, patients should avoid foods and supplements such as vitamin E, fish oil, turmeric, garlic, and ginkgo biloba. Besides, patients are asked to stop smoking 2-4 weeks before the surgery as smoking negatively affects the blood flow rate and increases the risk of clotting.
It would be better to come to the clinic with a friend or relative for the recovery period to go smoothly. You also need to prepare your house for the recovery period before surgery. If possible, you should ask a relative to help you in the first days. Thus, you will experience great comfort in cooking and housework.
